common questions about The Lofts

What is The Lofts at Wolf Pen Creek?

It’s stylish loft living, designed especially with Texas A&M and Blinn College students in mind — in an ideal location and at attractive rates. Built in 2009, The Lofts features furnished apartments and townhomes with 10-foot ceilings, hardwood-style floors, gourmet kitchens, flat-panel HDTV, single or shared bedrooms and more. All in a beautiful setting just minutes from campus.

Is The Lofts part of Texas A&M University?

The Lofts is a privately owned and professionally managed facility. Click here for more information about the ownership and management.

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your loft-mate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at The Lofts has their own individual contract, with one person per bed space. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your loft are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at The Lofts pays a flat rate that includes:

  • Furniture package including living room furniture, television, counter stools, desks and full-size beds (plus dining sets in select units; twin beds in 2-bedroom double)
  • Live Ethernet port in each bedroom, plus building Wi-Fi
  • Water/sewer, trash removal
  • Washer and dryer in each apartment
  • Covered parking deck for residents, available parking for guests
  • Staffed lobby
  • Community features — pools, fitness center, etc.

Are private bathrooms available?

Yes. All apartments and townhomes at The Lofts feature a private “in-suite” bathroom, except the 2-bedroom 2-bath double in which residents have private sinks and closets.

Are The Lofts furnished?

Yes. Each apartment includes a complete set of custom-designed furniture, including full size beds (twin in 2-bedroom double), desks and chairs, sofa and side chairs and coffee table, plus dining furniture and/or counter stools for the kitchen island. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our model lofts.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 16, 2019 to August 2, 2020, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Limited alternate dates may be available; please inquire with our staff.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. The Lofts also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at The Lofts?

Your living costs at The Lofts can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at The Lofts. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is The Lofts open to non-students?

Most of the residents at The Lofts are students at Texas A&M. The per person contracts are also designed with students in mind; nonetheless, The Lofts is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. Family members are welcome as well, subject to occupancy limits. Because of the need to match student loft-mates, non-students must apply together with enough loft-mates to fill the desired apartment.

What kind of security is provided?

The Lofts provide controlled access with a lobby attendant and courtesy patrols at select times, plus security cameras in numerous areas. Management staff are also on-site 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on smoking, guests and pets?

The Lofts is a 100% smoke-free facility. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests. The Lofts is a no-pets community, except for fish in small tanks approved by management.

Can I park my vehicle at The Lofts?

The Lofts offers free parking for all residents in our covered parking deck, with direct access to all floors of the building. Limited free guest parking is available as well.

What other transportation options will I have?

Texas A&M Aggie Spirit bus #27 (Ring Dance) stops right in front The Lofts as often as every 8 minutes when school is in session, plus extended service on evenings and weekends. Texas A&M is just minutes away. Or drive the short distance to campus and return to a covered space in The Lofts’ adjoining parking deck.
